Welcome to my 1987 Pontiac Grand Am Web Page. This 1987 Pontiac Grand Am is a one owner car. For the most part, it has been a very good car. The original color was silver, but the paint peeled off, just like many other cars in the late 80's. I also have the computer fail. Everyone just wanted to replace the oxygen sensor. After about 5 oxygen sensors I took it to someone who knew what they were doing and he replaced the computer. Its been running fine ever since. At about 140,000 miles the timing gear disintegrated. They had to replace it. Normally you have to pull the engine, but they did it without doing that. It still was expensive. Now there are over 150,000 miles on it and it is still running strong. I have the 2.5 liter (Iron Duke) 4 cylinder engine with a 3 speed automatic transmission. It is 100% stock, except for the trailer hitch I installed.
